1)How soon will my mailbox ship?
Each mailbox is painted by hand by Sandra Davis. Her studio is small, so she does not keep an inventory of pre-painted mailboxes. So, each mailbox is painted upon order. Please allow 2-3 weeks for shipment. We ship via FedEx ground- see the Shipping page for details.
2)Can I personalize my mailbox?
Sure! Sandra will add your house number to the door of the mailbox for no extra charge. You will be asked during checkout if you'd like this free option.
3)Are the mailboxes painted on both sides?
Absolutely! Mailboxes are painted on both sides and you have the option to add door and back painting.. The wall mount mailboxes are painted on the front and top.
4)What hardware comes with my mailbox?
The flag and door clip are included. The door clip is attached, but to prevent scratching during shipping we do not install the flag for you. It's easy to put on when the mailbox arrives.
5)What sizes are the mailboxes?
We only carry postal approved residential sizes. The Flower Mailboxes and Landscapes come in your choice of Standard 20"Lx9"Hx7"W or Large 22"Lx11"Hx8.5"W. The Wall Mounted Mailboxes are a Standard 14.75"Lx7"Hx2.75"W.
6)Does my hand painted mailbox need special care?Your hand painted mailbox has been triple overcoated with a clear non-yellowing varnish but will eventually wear due to the weather. We suggest once a year applying a car wax with UV protection to your mailbox to keep it looking beautiful for years. Wash the mailbox first with warm soapy water and let it dry. Caulking holes and seams with clear silicone will help to keep moisture out of the mailbox and prevent rust. We also suggest using non-rusting screws with plastic washers when mounting your mailbox. Be sure to remove bird droppings, as they can be corrosive.
